ECT Privacy Policy

The Swindon and Wiltshire Teaching School Hub is committed to protecting and respecting our privacy.

  1. Data controller

The Data Controller for the Swindon and Wiltshire Teaching School Hub, led by Glenmoor Academy is United Learning Trust (ULT). ULT is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The registration number is Z7415170. The Company Secretary is the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and is responsible for ensuring that ULT complies with the Data Protection Law. Alan Pike is responsible for ensuring that the Academy and Teaching School Hub complies with ULT’s policies and procedures in relation to Data Protection. He can be contacted on [email protected].

  1. What is the data being used for?

The main purpose of collecting the data is to ensure we can notify the Teacher Regulation Agency of your progress towards passing your statutory induction period. We will use the data to ensure that your contract meet the requirements for Statutory Guidance for ECTs. Twice a year anonymised data may be collated and shared with a panel of experienced Induction Tutors to monitor trends in the workforce. This includes contract type, proportion of ECTs on track to pass induction, training institution and training route.

  1. Who will the data be shared with? The only data that will be shared beyond the Teaching School Leadership team is your start date, finish date, Teacher Reference Number and date of birth. This is necessary to update your record on the TRA’s database. If you move school we are obliged to share any completed assessments and progress reports with the school and the Appropriate Body that they use for ECT induction. We will not share data with any other third parties unless we are required or permitted to do so by law or without further consultation.

Users can opt out of marketing emails at any time on the ECT Manager system.
